Title: Study of Nicknaming Among University Students
Abstract: This research aims at examining the use of nicknaming among three
universities' students. A questionnaire is set as a method to collect data
from 77 students participated in this study. The results show that
nicknaming is a common practice among university' students. A gender
differences is indicated through the use of nicknames to address classmate
students and close friends. Also, the use of nicknames reveals the close
relationship among the students of each class or department at each
university.
