- This review paper aims to provide an overview of the recent advancements in the synthesis and characterization of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) and their application in photocatalytic degradation of contaminants. The paper discusses the various methods of preparing GQDs and delves into the unique properties that make them excellent candidates for photocatalytic applications. Furthermore, the paper explores the mechanisms involved in the photocatalytic degradation process and the factors influencing the efficiency of GQDs in degrading contaminants. Overall, this paper highlights the potential of GQDs as a novel approach for addressing environmental contamination through photocatalytic degradation.
